Just When

IMG_7521 - Version 2

Expect

Just when I thought I had found my niche,
Not even just my niche
Rather my calling

Just when I landed my life in measure
Despite the disappointments
The surety of the knowing became comfortable

Just then

You came and shifted things all around
You changed it all up in a moment
In just a moment
You made a way
Where I thought there was no way

Just when I thought I had to figure it out
Wrestle it through
Be frustrated to no end
or hopefully be frustrated to a good end

You came
You breathed
You spoke
You answered where I had barely asked

My expectations blown out of the water
Once again
By the G-d who is far more moved by me
Than I will ever fully comprehend

Perhaps

Writing Every Day for Thirty-One Days
to Speak Life over Israel

While much of the earth is speaking death and accusation over the Jewish nation, let’s take 31 days to do the opposite. Let’s speak life over the nation of Israel and the Jewish people.

Day 27: Perhaps

Perhaps things are better than they seem
Perhaps the hatred we see is not really hatred at all
Perhaps the darkness of young ones
desiring to murder Jews in the name of god
isn’t as bad as it seems
Perhaps peace is possible
Perhaps

Perhaps the world will not continue in their anti-Semitic ways
Perhaps Israel will not be hated continually,
in the same way Jews have been hated century after century
Perhaps

Perhaps the kings will bow before the one G-d
Perhaps the enemies of G-d will stop their hating
Perhaps those who hate the G-d of Israel
will change their ways
and change their minds
and change their hearts
Perhaps

May the wicked turn to G-d
that they may not perish in their wickedness
May those who glorify death
turn from their wicked ways
and seek the living G-d who gave them life

May the haters find G-d’s love
May those seeking death find G-d’s life
May those given to darkness encounter G-d’s light

May G-d keep and protect his people Israel
from those seeking their destruction
May Israel find deliverance and life
in the G-d who has never forgotten nor forsaken them
May Israel run into the heart of G-d
who made Israel for his own glory

Baruch haShem

Standing with Israel, Standing with G-d

O G-d, do not be silent;
 do not hold aloof;
do not be quiet, O G-d! For Your enemies rage,
Your foes assert themselves. They plot craftily against Your people,
 take counsel against Your treasured ones. They say, “Let us wipe them out as a nation;
Israel’s name will be mentioned no more.”…pursue them with Your tempest,
terrify them with Your storm. Cover their faces with shame
so that they seek Your name, O Lord…May they know
that Your name, Yours alone, is the Lord,
supreme over all the earth. Tehillim/Psalm 83

Awaiting David’s Son

Writing Every Day for Thirty-One Days
to Speak Life over Israel

While much of the earth is speaking death and accusation over the Jewish nation, let’s take 31 days to do the opposite. Let’s speak life over the nation of Israel and the Jewish people.

Day 20: Temporary

One thing is sure
The G-d of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps
and he does not forget his promises
and he cannot be unfaithful to his covenant of love

Israel’s momentary afflictions,
and turmoil
and difficulty
will cease

Israel’s future is bright
Jerusalem will shine
like a lamp that burns
with the salvation of her G-d
Zion will be bright with righteousness

All G-d said will be done
Nothing will stop what
The King of the universe,
The one G-d of heaven and earth
The one G-d of all creation will do

The Holy One of Israel
will keep his promises to Israel
He will finish what he started
with this people

G-d will see his people through
He will deliver Zion
Every word he spoke
will be completed

The earth will see
The deliverance of the sons of Zion

The creation awaits the day of Mashiach
All the sons of man will see
and know
and comprehend
when David’s son comes

All will see
and know
and glorify the Holy one of Israel

Wait,
with hope
and anticipation
and longing
for that day

For Zion’s sake I will not hold my peace, For Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burns. Isaiah 62

the living hope of the living G-d

the living hope of the living G-d

Sometimes we think G-d is not like us. We think He is unfeeling and uncaring and far away from our anguish, far away from comprehending our deepest joys. Yet this is not true. This is not who He is. He is filled with affection and emotion. He created us in His image to feel and live fully and love deeply. He is not aloof and arrogant. He is not expectantly waiting for us to fail so that He can show us how pathetic we are. This is not G-d. He doesn’t look upon the suffering of His people and turn His love away. He isn’t mean like man. He doesn’t lie nor change who He is. His words stand and His decrees are written in eternity.

There is living hope deep within the heart of G-d for a people He created for Himself, a people He called His firstborn Son, a people He put His name upon forever, His people Israel. The Holy One of Israel aches for His people. He knows their history. He remembers their days of rejoicing. He holds in His heart their days of suffering. He has not forgotten. He continually remembers the plight and experience of His people. He suffered with them. In the fullness of time, they will comprehend that He was with them.

It beseeches all who live for and believe in the one G-d to lay hold of G-d’s heart for His people Israel. As the nations rage against the people of Israel once again, lay hold of His heart. Take courage and learn to stand with Him. Lay hold of His heart and love whom He loves. To the Jew first, then to the Gentile.
